Magnolia Trees Of Kennett Square

This is off the side of the row of townhouses about a hundred feet from my studio. I have painted this garage a few different times, but I have not included this large magnolia tree because it was summer. Every spring this tree is covered with large beautiful pink flowers.

There are a few other magnolia trees inside Kennett Square. I wonder if there were more magnolia trees than now. Can you magine a sea of pink every spring in Kennett Square? Wow, what a sight.

A large old tree was removed because of this development we live in. I know this because Google’s Street View still have images of the land before the townhouses were built. Judging from the size of its trunk, it was easily at least 100 years old. What a shame if it was a magnolia tree.

If only trees could talk, oh the stories it would tell! Imagine sitting for hours under its canopy soaking up every story it would share.
