Waiting for the first rose petal...

I have finally decided that this still life is complete. I do not usually paint in this manner, but sometimes somethings needed to be said this way. I like this one very much because there is some sense of suspense with the figure in the shadow looking up as though waiting for something else to happen. It seems to be mainly about the crisp clean green vase amongst the other empty containers, but it is about something else, tabula rasa.
