Back to the open field. Again.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood. Around the corner in the field between Kennett Legacy Field and Red Clay Creek. Scraped and painted over the previous day’s second outdoor painting. It had pretty colours but the composition was not holding up to my eyes. I thought that it felt stagnant. I have painted over paintings before, and I regretted doing so to a few. I will probably look back on this one and wonder what I was thinking when I painted over it. Oh well.

As I have mentioned before, I am a fair weather painter. I do not like painting in soggy weather or cold weather. I shall get over it. I had bought several packets of hands and feet warmers a couple of years ago, but I have forgotten about them. Out of sight, out of mind. I found them buried in other boxes in my studio’s closet, I put them on for the first time and then went outside to do this painting over the previous day’s painting of the same subject. This time with 3 inches of snow cover.
