Everyone has each of their own creative venue. Snicker if you like, but remember this, two grownups (old farts!) made these two lovable characters, A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard! Just saying 😉

Sometimes I take them along with me on my painting adventures, because it’s an extra beautiful day in the neighbourhood when Pooh and Piglet come along.

I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Reimagining some paintings from a few years ago

I had been in a dry spell for a long while, but I have recently crawled out of the rut. Sometimes clutter around one could make it difficult to focus or feel motivated. Procrastination, laziness, depression, or whatever you like to call it, speed bumps I supposed.

I forced myself off my ass, so to speak, and I decluttered my studio and my walls of all idle paintings and reorganised my storage system. Purchased a large metal shelving system to optimise and installed them in the basement to optimise the vertical spaces. The new setup made it easier for me to find and sort out old paintings to review — that is, to trash, paint over with oil ground, or to reimagine them. I found a few to do the latter.
